CHAPTER 7
MULTI-STREAMING
Multistreaming is a useful technique for professional broadcasters.
Multi-platform streaming, sometimes known as "multistreaming," is a broadcasting
approach that includes concurrently streaming a single broadcast to numerous platforms. This is
referred to as "multicasting" or "simulcasting."
Usually, multistreaming is practiced to simultaneously stream to multiple social media
streaming platforms as well as your own site. YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch are among the main
platforms where broadcasters multistream, however this is not an entire list (“Introducing
Multistreaming - Simulcast Your Live Shopping Shows Introducing-Multistreaming-To-
Simulcast-Live-Shopping-Shows,” 2021).
Why Livestream to Several Platforms?
The primary advantage of multistreaming is that it allows marketers to reach a broader
audience. The aim is to broadcast to sites where the audience regularly "hang out" on the web.
It is feasible to connect into your existing followers and create a more "popular" network
by broadcasting to social networking sites such as Facebook or YouTube. Multistream enables
professionals to engage their clients where they are and to attract more people (“Multistreaming:
Streaming to Multiple Platforms Guide,” n.d.).
You might be wondering why you'd bother with simultaneous broadcasting to your website
or app in addition to your social media platforms. There are still several advantages to white-label
video streaming, thus multistreaming just adds another layer of advantages.
Some of the advantages of multistreaming are listed below:
Wider Audience: Livestreaming over several platforms is analogous to a fisherman
casting a huge net into the ocean and gathering in the greater catch. By online
streaming on many platforms, a seller may avoid driving audiences to one network
and rather persuade them to join any platform they're currently on.
