CHAPTER 10
ETHICS TO CONSIDER
If you're making a live stream for a company or your own brand, you'll be tempted to
include a dazzling brand logo or graphics in the frame. This is a bad choice since the flashy visuals
will make it difficult for your audience to focus on your content. That being said, if you must add
a logo, use one that is small enough to be inconspicuous or overlooked throughout the live
streaming session. The goal is to avoid anything bright or flamboyant. During the live stream, it
will divert the audience's focus away from you and your message. Consider integrating your
brand's logo digitally to your website if you want to display it. (“What’s the Best Dress Code for
Live Streaming?” 2020)
CONTRAST AND BACKGROUND:
An excellent approach to follow a live streaming dress code and look your best is to avoid
wearing the same color as the background. Newbie live streamers sometimes make the mistake of
having a solid color background and then dressing in the same color. So, if you don't want to seem
like a floating head throughout your live broadcast, change up the colors of your background and
apparel. A decent rule of thumb is to wear a darker hue if you are utilizing a light background for
your live stream. Conversely, if you're going for a dark background, wear something light.
Take Caution When Wearing Colors:
In general, it is recommended to avoid wearing either black or white. During the live
stream, these colors frequently produce an unneeded shadow or wash you out. On the other hand,
choosing a saturated hue that contrasts with the background you're utilizing might make you stand
out on screen.
What color is your hair?
This is another critical component that is sometimes disregarded. Many people who are
new to live streaming are unaware of how important their hair is during live video broadcasting.
It's a good idea to match the color of your dress to the color of your hair. If you have darker hair,
go to a middle spectrum of dark hues rather than entirely black.
